To turn a long video into clips that still feel like yours, choose a moment that makes sense on its own, fix the cut, captions, and framing, and save the looks you like. In Veri, the caption styles, layouts, and notes you save stay available for the next clip.
Somewhere in your video is an explanation, joke, or moment worth sharing on its own. Once you find it, you still have to cut it, fit it to a phone screen, fix the captions, and decide whether it makes sense without the rest of the video.
Veri is a Creator Co-Pilot powered by a model you own, and it helps with that whole job using your own footage. The Clips docs list each control. This guide follows one clip through seven steps:
- Tell Veri what kind of moment you want.
- Cut the part you want to post.
- Choose the shape and framing.
- Choose a caption style and save it.
- Leave notes for the next clips.
- Write the post caption and versions for other platforms.
- Save, export, and watch the file before posting.
Tell Veri what makes a good clip for you.
Bring a video you own into Clips, or use Make clips on a supported video in Library or Chat. Tell Veri what kind of moment you want and roughly how long it should be. You can review suggestions or start an empty clip and choose the footage yourself.
Be specific about what belongs in the clip. “Find a tip someone can try without watching the whole tutorial” is a useful request, and so are “Keep the setup before the joke” and “Find the part where I explain why I changed my mind.”
Watch the suggestion beside the original. A strong line can lose its meaning when the sentence before it disappears. You decide whether the shorter version still says what you meant.
Cut the part you want to post.
Use the transcript and trim controls to choose where the clip starts and ends. You can change the parts you keep, reorder them, and undo a change if it makes the video harder to follow.
For example, a tutorial might include a shortcut and a warning about when it fails. You could remove a repeated explanation while keeping the warning, so someone seeing the clip alone knows when the advice applies.
Correct the on-screen captions separately. Fixing a misspelled name should not require cutting the sentence out of the footage. You can change caption words, grouping, and timing, then play the clip back to check them against the audio.
Keep your face and the important details in view.
Choose vertical, horizontal, or square video, then check what fits in the picture. A crop that looks right while you are talking may miss the object you pick up a few seconds later.
Auto framing gives you a starting point. Use the layout controls to adjust shots that need attention, including picture-in-picture views where you want to keep a face and a demonstration or gameplay visible. Watch the transitions, too.
When you have a layout you want to use again, save it. You can make it the default so it applies to matching future clips, change it for one video, or clear the default. You stay in control of the look as your content changes.
Save the captions you like.
Choose a caption style and preview it on the actual words in your clip. Adjust the available font, size, color, position, background, and motion controls. Save the look when it feels right for your channel.
If Veri has a caption reference from your own video, it can offer an editable look from it, so you have a starting point drawn from your channel. You can also choose a style directly or try a different look. Check that people can read the words on a phone and that the text does not cover what you want them to see.
Saving the look means you can use it on the next clip. You should not have to choose the same font and move the same captions every time you post.
Leave notes that guide the next clips.
Tell Veri why you liked a moment or what it missed. Saved clip notes can guide later requests, and you can see which notes were included. You can also ignore saved notes for a particular video.
With the notes and looks you save, the next video’s clips should start closer to what you want and need fewer of the same fixes. You can change whatever needs to be different and still keep a style people recognize while you try new things.
If you are choosing between clipping products, our OpusClip comparison covers editing, reusable templates, and their different approaches to content and personal preferences.
Share the idea in more than one place.
You can discuss the open clip in Veri Chat and ask for a post caption while it is still in front of you. Keep the wording about the moment you are sharing, so someone seeing it for the first time has a reason to watch.
A Short might show the demonstration, while an X post explains why you wanted to try it. Our one-video, multiple-posts guide walks through making those versions. You can ask Veri to help write those different versions without pretending each audience needs the same introduction.
Exporting a clip does not publish it automatically.
A good clip gives a new viewer an accurate introduction to your content and a reason to come back, which matters if you care about the trust you have with your audience. No editing tool can guarantee the views that follow.
Make one clip you would be happy to post.
Start with a video you know well, ask for a moment worth sharing, and make the changes you want. Save the clip, export it, and watch the downloaded file before posting. Keep the caption look and layout if you want them on the next one.
Bring your video to Veri and make the first clip, with free early access and no card required.

You can choose vertical, horizontal, or square video. Auto framing gives you a starting point, and the layout controls let you adjust individual shots.
Can I reuse a caption style and layout on my next clip?

Does exporting a clip from Veri post it to my account?
No, exporting does not publish the clip to a connected account. Download the finished file and watch it before you post it yourself.
Does Veri train a shared model on my clips?
