How Veri collects, uses, and protects your data.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create a Veri account, we collect your email address, username, and any profile information you choose to provide.

Social Media Data

With your permission, we collect public profile information and engagement metrics from connected social platforms (YouTube, X, Instagram, TikTok) to power your creator analytics and Growth Hub insights.

Usage Analytics

We use PostHog for product analytics (page views, feature usage, anonymized event tracking), Google Tag Manager for marketing attribution, and Sentry for error monitoring and performance. All analytics data is anonymized and does not include your social media content or credentials. You can opt out via your browser's Do Not Track setting.

Communication Data

Messages you send through Veri Chat and support communications are stored to provide personalized assistance and support.

YouTube Data Collection (OAuth)

When you connect your YouTube account via OAuth, we request access to the following data:

  • Channel Information: Channel name, description, subscriber count, total views, video count, and profile imagery
  • Performance Analytics (28-day & lifetime): Views, watch time, engagement metrics (likes, comments, shares), and audience retention
  • Audience Demographics: Age ranges, gender distribution, geographic locations, and playback devices
  • Traffic Sources: YouTube search, suggested videos, external sites, playlists, and direct traffic
  • Video-Level Metrics: Per-video views, watch time, engagement, and retention curves for highlighted videos
  • Revenue & Monetization Data: Estimated earnings, CPM, ad impressions, monetized playbacks, and per-video revenue

OAuth scopes requested:

  • youtube.readonly — Read basic channel information
  • yt-analytics.readonly — View non-monetary analytics reports
  • yt-analytics-monetary.readonly — View monetization and revenue data
  • userinfo.profile — Confirm the Google account identity
  • userinfo.email — Match the Google account to your Veri profile

Important: Revenue and monetization data is only visible in your private Growth Hub dashboard. We never share this data with brands unless you explicitly choose to disclose it in an application.

TikTok Data Collection (OAuth)

When you connect your TikTok account via OAuth, we request access to the following data:

  • Profile Information: Display name, username, avatar URL, profile link, bio description, and account verification status
  • Account Statistics: Follower count, following count, total likes count, and total video count
  • Video Data: List of your public videos, titles, descriptions, hashtags, cover images, and video IDs
  • Engagement Metrics: Per-video views, likes, comments, shares, and engagement rates
  • Content Performance: Video performance trends, growth metrics, and audience engagement patterns

OAuth scopes requested:

  • user.info.basic — Read basic profile information (avatar, display name)
  • user.info.profile — Read additional profile information (bio, profile link, verification status)
  • user.info.stats — View account statistics (follower count, video count, likes)
  • video.list — Access your public videos and video metadata

Important: We comply with TikTok's Developer Terms of Service and Data Sharing Agreement. Your TikTok data is only visible in your private Growth Hub dashboard and is never sold to third parties. We only share creator metrics with brands when you explicitly apply to their campaigns.

TikTok Data Retention

  • Account Data: Retained until you disconnect your TikTok account or delete your Veri account
  • Video Analytics: Retained for 24 months or until you revoke TikTok authorization
  • OAuth Tokens: Stored encrypted and refreshed automatically (24-hour token lifecycle)
  • Performance Metrics: Historical data retained to show growth trends over time
  • Video Previews: TikTok video metadata cached for dashboard display

Data Deletion: When you disconnect your TikTok account or delete your Veri account, all TikTok-sourced data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Your TikTok Data Rights

You have full control over your TikTok data:

  • Disconnect: Remove TikTok integration at any time from your dashboard
  • Revoke Access: Revoke Veri's access through TikTok's privacy settings
  • Data Deletion: Request immediate deletion of all TikTok data at privacy@joinveri.co
  • Data Export: Download your TikTok analytics data in machine-readable format

You can revoke Veri's access to your TikTok data at any time through:

  • Your Veri dashboard: Settings → Connected Accounts
  • TikTok app: Settings and privacy → Security → Manage third-party access
  • Contact us at privacy@joinveri.co for immediate data deletion

TikTok Data Processors

TikTok data is processed by the following third parties under data protection agreements:

  • MongoDB Atlas: Encrypted database storage for creator profiles and analytics
  • OpenAI & Anthropic: AI-powered insights and content recommendations (anonymized data only)
  • Our backend servers: Secure API integration and data synchronization

All processors are bound by data protection agreements and may only use your TikTok information to provide services on our behalf.

Instagram Data Collection (OAuth)

When you connect your Instagram Business or Creator account via OAuth, we request access to profile, media, analytics, and comment-management permissions to provide Growth Hub insights and creator-owned engagement tooling.

  • Profile Information: Instagram user ID, username, account type, and media counts
  • Media Metadata: Captions, media IDs, media type, permalink, timestamp, and thumbnails where available
  • Performance Analytics: Views, reach, likes, comment counts, saves, shares, and total interactions
  • Comment Evidence: Stored comment text, username, timestamp, and like count for creator-owned media when comments ingest is enabled
  • Confirmed Replies: If enabled for your account, Veri can send a public Instagram comment reply only after you explicitly confirm the exact reply text

OAuth scopes requested:

  • instagram_business_basic — Read Instagram Business or Creator profile and media metadata
  • instagram_business_manage_insights — Read account and media performance insights
  • instagram_business_manage_comments — Read comments and send user-confirmed replies

You can disconnect Instagram from Veri at any time. Disconnect pauses Instagram syncing and hides the active connection while preserving data for reconnect. Revoke & Reset, account deletion, or a valid Meta data-deletion callback deletes stored OAuth tokens and removes Instagram-sourced analytics, media, comments, embeddings, and reply audit records from Veri systems.

Instagram deletion request status: If you were sent here by Meta after removing Veri from Instagram, Veri has received the signed data-deletion request and has completed the local deletion workflow for the matched Instagram account.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data in the following circumstances:

Brand Partners

When you apply to brand campaigns, we share relevant creator metrics and contact information with participating brands.

Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party services for analytics, hosting, and AI processing. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.

Third-Party Data Processors

  • MongoDB Atlas: Encrypted database hosting for creator profiles and analytics
  • Google Cloud Platform: OAuth authentication, YouTube API access, and Vertex AI model calls
  • RapidAPI: Secure retrieval of caption transcripts when requested
  • OpenAI & Anthropic: AI-powered insights, chat responses, and summarization
  • AssemblyAI & Voyage: Audio transcription and embeddings for search and recommendations
  • PostHog: Product analytics. Your PostHog person record is deleted when you delete your Veri account
  • LangSmith, Sentry, and SigNoz: AI observability, error monitoring, and infrastructure logs
  • Resend & Postmark: Transactional email delivery
  • SocialKit, Exa, and Brave: Platform data lookups and web research for Veri Chat

Each processor is bound by data protection agreements and may only use your information to provide services on our behalf. Outside of PostHog, these vendors keep their own bounded retention windows for things like error logs and infrastructure traces. Those windows are shorter than our systems and expire automatically, but they mean a brief residual record can outlive your Veri account for a limited time.

Your Privacy Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access & Download: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate personal information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data and account
  • Portability: Download your conversations and saved work from Settings → Privacy at any time

The download from Settings → Privacy contains your Veri Chat conversations and saved artifacts (thumbnails, scripts, titles) as JSON, markdown, and the original files. Other account data is not included in the download.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • End-to-end encryption for sensitive data transmission
  • Secure server infrastructure with regular security audits
  • Access controls and authentication for all team members
  • Regular backups and disaster recovery procedures
  • Compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations

Data Retention Policy

We retain your data for the following periods:

  • Account Data: Retained until you delete your account or request deletion
  • YouTube Analytics: Retained for 24 months or until you disconnect or revoke your YouTube connection
  • OAuth Tokens: Stored encrypted until you revoke authorization or delete your account
  • Communication Logs: Veri Chat messages are kept until you delete the conversation or your account. There's no fixed retention period
  • Anonymized Analytics: Aggregated usage data retained indefinitely without personal identifiers

Account Deletion: From Settings → Privacy, type DELETE and confirm your password. Your account locks immediately and you're logged out everywhere, then deletion starts right away. We run a second check the next day to confirm nothing was missed and send you a completion email once it's clear. Certain records may be retained longer if required by law (e.g., financial or audit obligations).

A few of the vendors we use to run Veri, like error monitoring and infrastructure logs, keep their own bounded retention windows that are shorter than our systems and expire automatically. That can leave a brief residual record with those vendors after your account is deleted. See Third-Party Data Processors above for the full list.

Google API Services Compliance

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We Will Not:

  • Transfer your YouTube data to third parties except as necessary to provide our services
  • Use your YouTube data to serve advertisements
  • Allow humans to read your YouTube data except where required for security, compliance, or with your explicit consent
  • Use your YouTube data to train machine learning models without your consent

Your Control

You can revoke Veri's access to your YouTube data at any time through your Google Account permissions or by using the Revoke & Reset option in your Veri dashboard.

How long does Veri retain my analytics data?

YouTube analytics are retained for 24 months or until you disconnect your account. TikTok analytics are retained for 24 months or until you revoke authorization. When you delete your Veri account, we start deleting everything the same day and confirm with a second check the next day.

Is my YouTube revenue data ever shared with brands?
